This year we celebrate the centenary of Gerald Durrell, born on January 7, 1925, and FRESH Verlag publishing house is proud to present our new title “Corfu. The Durrells”: the ultimate travel guide by Liv Machina.

The story of the unique Durrell family and their life on the Greek island of Corfu has been attracting people’s attention for a long time. Both Lawrence Durrell, the famous writer, and his younger brother Gerald, also a writer, zoologist and wildlife protector, have written several popular books about their years on Corfu. As many as three TV series have been made about it! Of course, readers and viewers have always wondered where all these events took place. Where did the Durrells live, where did they picnic and walk, where did they meet friends, what happened to them when they left Corfu? This guide gives accurate and detailed answers to all these questions, and describes all the locations on the island associated with the Durrells. The book consists of six chapters:

• Where did they live? We will tell you about all four houses that the Durrells rented during their years in Corfu
• Where did they ever get to? All the mountains, lakes, islands, settlements, and so on that they used to visit
• The Town. Remarkable places in the island’s capital, Corfu Town
• Their comebacks. The Durrells came to Corfu even after the WWII
